Chicago..so much to do..so little time!

Sweet girl with her new baby...

Gavin..being brave..petting the "very real" dinosaur.

Amazingly real!!

The famous "Sue"..famous at our house anyway!

Gavin.."am I scaring you?"

Eli..ROOAARR!!

This is our annual spring trip to Chicago to visit Aunt Deb and Uncle Lyn. Each spring we come while Derrick is in the field. It helps to pass the time with him working such long hours. However..this year we got a wonderful surprise and Derrick finished in the field about 4 days ago so he was able to come wit us. We were so excited when he finished that last acre. When he told the boys that he was coming they started jumping up and down and screaming. Mimi, my Mom, is also with us. My Dad is working nights so the original plan was for she and I to bring the kids. Needless to say we are blessed to be with so much family this week but we do wish Pawpaw, my Dad, we able to be here instead of working. Today was our first day and Daddy along with Uncle Lyn took the boys to the Field Museum which they love. "Sue" the T-Rex is there and I believe Eli has every possible dinosaur book ever written so he get especially excited. This summer they have a special "living dinosaur" robotics show which Gavin was really excited about because he loves to figure out how things work. I knew that the boys (young and not so young) would want to be there for a while...4 hours..so my Mom, Aunt Deb and I took Isabella shopping. Not just shopping but to American Girl Place on Michigan Avenue. I have waited years to have a reason to go to that store. I realize that Isabella is only 17 months old but yes she now has a new doll. A bitty baby to be specific..she picked it out and it is the Asian doll..too funny. We had a ball and I am sure we will be back. What a great first day!! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!!!
